Surprised?

Many times life has taught us that people don't turn out the way you expect them to be. You see a pretty girl with a pretty smile and you expect her to be the sweetest darling, only that she turns out to have a phony personality. Or you see a pretty girl with a pretty smile and you expect her to be conceited and cold, only that she turns out to be a charming lass with a quirky sense of humour. It becomes so stereotyped and mechanical after a while. You put a face to a personality and when it doesn't match we appear stumped, as though things had acted out of the preconceived rules of nature.

But yet we continue to expect, and set ourselves up for constant tides of disappointment.
